Moving files and a database to a new host is only part of a WordPress migration. Many “finished” moves still leave:
– Internal links pointing at the old domain or staging URL
– Images loading over `http://` on an `https://` site (mixed content)
– Missing redirects when permalinks or paths changed
– Cron, mail, or object-cache settings that still assume the old environment
## Checks that belong in the handoff
– Home, login, key landing pages, and (for stores) cart/checkout
– Search-replace for old URLs done carefully — not a blind text replace across serialized data without a proper tool
– SSL and HSTS behavior on the new host
– Redirect map if the domain or structure changed
## Scope honesty
A host move is planned work, not the same as emergency recovery when a site is already down. I also do not push a specific host brand.
If you are mid-move or cleaning up after one, share current URL, destination, and what looks broken.
